Rules

Publish your server rules in a clean, sectioned panel.

The idea

Nobody reads a long wall of rules. This system splits them into sections: you post one short panel, and a member picks the section that concerns them to get its full text. That makes the rules readable instead of a block of writing.

Tips

A five-hundred-word rules message goes unread, then members break them and say they never knew. This system splits them up: a short panel in the channel, with the rules spread across sections a member picks from to receive the full text in a reply of their own.

Every section has a name, a short description shown in the menu, an emoji, and a response holding the full rule text. Sections are reordered by dragging, so you put the important ones first.

The display style depends on how many sections you have: buttons when there are few so members see them all at once, or a dropdown when there are many so the panel does not swell. The default style and button color are set once in the general settings and inherited by every panel.

And you can create more than one panel: a general rules panel in the welcome channel, and a section-specific rules panel in its own channel.
