Media Channel

Make a channel accept images and media only.

The idea

A memes or screenshots channel fills with chatter within days and loses its purpose. This feature forces the channels you pick to accept only media or links from known platforms, and everything else is deleted. The result is a channel that stays what it was built for, with no daily policing by the staff.

Channels

You choose the channels the rules apply to. Everything on this page applies inside them alone, and the rest of the server is untouched.

What is allowed

Allowed platforms

The list of domains whose links are accepted. Leave it empty to use the built-in list, and subdomains are matched automatically so you never have to write them out one by one.

Bypass and warning

Tips

A memes channel becomes a chat channel within a week, and a clips channel fills with unrelated replies. Media channel settles that: you pick the channels, define what is accepted in them, and everything else is deleted automatically with no staff involvement.

The control is granular rather than a single switch: allow images, allow videos and audio, allow other files or block them so only media attachments pass, and allow links but only from known platforms. The link rule is strict: every link in the message must come from the list, so one stray link drops the whole message.

The platform list can be left empty to use the built-in one, or filled with your own domains. Subdomains are matched automatically, so you never have to enumerate them.

And because the staff sometimes needs to explain inside the channel, there are bypass roles the rules never apply to. An optional warning message is shown to whoever had a message deleted and disappears after the seconds you set, or the deletion happens silently if you leave it empty.
